The kids had a blast at the ward rodeo! Who would have thought that a city person had their own horse arena tucked back into one of the gullies up here. There was horse rides, donkey petting,
barbecue and baked beans...

And he hung on as tight as he could. He even tried his hand at the chicken catching--three times!
Daradie was very much into riding the horses all day. (I really think she loved being lead around the arena with an authentic Rodeo Queen's horse and saddle. The queen even had a sparkly belt.) The ward had all the young girls dress up in cowgirl attire with stick horses and do a
barrel race.

Dad, you'll have to remember how to do this for the next event. They hooked an old piece of carpet onto a four-wheeler for a "magic carpet" ride. It was awfully dusty but it was fun. Nothing like horse pooh flipping back in your face--just had to keep your mouth shut tight.
