Out with the Old, in with the New....or almost New but still Lookin' Good

There are these in the linen closet....
And these ready for use on the kitchen table....
And it only took me 12 1/2 years to get them out. No wonder Dan keeps asking me if this is our permanent home.....

New Year's Resolution that's Contagious

Watch out girls! You think he's fit now....just give him until he's 6 (or maybe 25). Wish you could have a bod like that? Refuse to eat chocolate anything, pop, and most cakes and donuts. Instead, load your plate full of watermelon, cucumbers with dip, strawberries, chips, pickles, corn on the cob, ham and drink at least 23 cups of liquids a day (being juice or milk most preferred).

Introducing "Morgan"

This is Morgan. Girls are not allowed to have middle names (per Daradie's instructions). So, just Morgan.
I'm guessing he likes it better when there are more boys around the house.....

Go Get 'Em Resolution

Message from President Ezra Taft Benson:
The Book of Mormon helps us draw nearer to God. Is there not something deep in our hearts that longs to draw nearer to God, to be more like Him in our daily walk, to feel His presence with us constantly? If so, then the Book of Mormon will help us do so more than any other book. It is not just that the Book of Mormon teaches us truth, though it indeed does that. It is not just that the Book of Mormon bears testimony of Christ, though it indeed does that, too. But there is something more. There is a power in the book which will begin to flow into your lives the moment you begin a serious study of the book. You will find the power to avoid deception. You will find the power to stay on the straight and narrow path. The scriptures are called "the words of life" (see DC 84:85), and nowhere is that more true than it is of the Book of Mormon. When you begin to hunger and thirst after those words, you will find life in greater and greater abundance. (Ensign, Nov. 1986, p.7.)

Christmas in January...better than in July

Koen is testing out his new chaps. He's quite excited. He rarely wears t-shirts and elastic wasted pants. His normal attire is "cowboy clothes" which is a button down shirt tucked in, pants with belt loops and a belt, cowboy boots and hat. Santa also felt bad for Koen because he was known to sleep with such things as a pair of handcuffs or a sword and opted to give him a nice squishy, soft german shepherd stuffed dog. Of course, a race track and a remote control car finished off the gifts.

Daradie was excited about her desk. Look familiar siblings? That's right, Dan refinished the school desk that we use to play with when we were younger. Inside was full of paints, paper, markers, stickers, and the list of supplies goes on. She made certain that it was covered up nice and tight for the move and asked repeatedly what load it was going in for the move. Both school teachers have remarked that she goes beyond the expectations with coloring in the pictures when not required and is one of the best with handwriting and coloring in the class.

Dan and I had a good Christmas as well. We kept it simple. Dan tried to convince the kiddos that Santa would love some Panda Express for a treat instead of cookies. 'Santa probably gets hungry around 11:30 at night and that's when he stops by our house' was used as his argument. I quickly chimed in that Panda Express is closed on Christmas Eve so the other employees can spend time with their family preparing for the big day ahead. Everyone compromised with a shrimp tray and a glass of apple juice (Daradie wanted to make sure Santa ate somewhat healthy). I think that turned out really great because Santa was so happy with the shrimp tray that he left us a can of our favorite hot cocoa.

Just a little fun on the side

This is the House the Peck's Bought....

Well, mom, the pictures are finally here!
