While reading a favorite Junie B. Jones book:
Daradie: Why did that girl have to take the attendance down to the office?
Me: When I was in school (can you see the path we'll soon be taking?) we had to take the attendance down to the office. The classrooms didn't have computers.
Daradie: Really? What about "math boards" (which are projectors of some sort that computerize assignments onto the white board) and did you...
Me: Really. Daradie, we didn't even have phones, white boards and teacher's didn't wear microphones or have big computer labs when I was your age.
Daradie: So, was this back in Joseph Smith's time?
(and to continue on the next night while reading....maybe I should just pick some different books or something now that I'm reflecting on this whole ordeal....)
Daradie: What's a peddler?
Me: Long ago a person carried a bunch of stuff in a cart and asked if you would like to buy something out of the cart. They didn't have malls back then like we do to go buy things.
Daradie: with that look and questioning eyes, Did you buy something from a peddler?
Me: No.
Daradie: Did Joseph Smith?
Me: No. Even before that.
Daradie: I bet Johnny Appleseed did. Did you know Johnny Appleseed?
I am apparently that old.

I always assumed that you did know Johnny Appleseed, Ang. And you're telling me that I was wrong? Dang... You are now much less cool in my eyes.
love junie b! me and em have laughed our heads off while reading some of those together at bedtime.
I was about to razz you back for not posting very often..then realized you've been posting. For some reason my links stuck on last August. I had to use the side bar to find all your recent posts. Too funny, reading about your kids! I can't believe how much older they seem!
