SIX things I love about Daradie:
1. Her ambition and drive, 2. Creativity (she makes me jealous at her art projects), 3. outgoing, 4. love and protection for her brother, 5. her cute little freckles on her nose that seem to multiply by the months, 6. she can catch any detail and has a memory like an elephant (she's great to bring along to the grocery store)
The birthday girl had a rockin' time this year. She had a party where we face painted, did nails, made bracelets and played a few games.
I stole some ideas from a magazine about new birthday traditions and they turned out really fun. The best idea (that would work great for those "tweens" in your life), "Yes!" cards: three yes cards that can be used to trump mom's "no." They can't be used to break the rules or ask for anything outlandish (like no DisneyLand trips.) Example, she used two to wear some of my lipstick and to wear shorts outside of the house (which normally isn't an issue except we still have knee-deep snow here). She loved that!
