Christmas in January...better than in July

Koen is testing out his new chaps. He's quite excited. He rarely wears t-shirts and elastic wasted pants. His normal attire is "cowboy clothes" which is a button down shirt tucked in, pants with belt loops and a belt, cowboy boots and hat. Santa also felt bad for Koen because he was known to sleep with such things as a pair of handcuffs or a sword and opted to give him a nice squishy, soft german shepherd stuffed dog. Of course, a race track and a remote control car finished off the gifts.

Daradie was excited about her desk. Look familiar siblings? That's right, Dan refinished the school desk that we use to play with when we were younger. Inside was full of paints, paper, markers, stickers, and the list of supplies goes on. She made certain that it was covered up nice and tight for the move and asked repeatedly what load it was going in for the move. Both school teachers have remarked that she goes beyond the expectations with coloring in the pictures when not required and is one of the best with handwriting and coloring in the class.

Dan and I had a good Christmas as well. We kept it simple. Dan tried to convince the kiddos that Santa would love some Panda Express for a treat instead of cookies. 'Santa probably gets hungry around 11:30 at night and that's when he stops by our house' was used as his argument. I quickly chimed in that Panda Express is closed on Christmas Eve so the other employees can spend time with their family preparing for the big day ahead. Everyone compromised with a shrimp tray and a glass of apple juice (Daradie wanted to make sure Santa ate somewhat healthy). I think that turned out really great because Santa was so happy with the shrimp tray that he left us a can of our favorite hot cocoa.

Daradie and Anna would be great friends. Anna did not want to leave cookies. She said Santa eats too many cookies and would want something healthy! I must admit, that was kind of a proud moment for me! :)

Angilee,
Finally got around to checking in on people's blogs & was excited to see your new place! From the picture you painted when you were telling me about it right after you bought it, I was expecting a little hole in the wall, but this is great with lots of space! Thanks for sharing the videos -- I like knowing where you are. Have fun getting settled & making it 'home'!
